Make one page
- Open Website, then Pages.
- Press New page.
- Type a Page name. You have to give one.
- Under What is this page for?, pick how to start. Blank gives you an empty page. The other choices are ready-made pages, such as Baptism, Marriage, Funerals, Hall hire or Contact. A parish, a diocese and a school each see their own list.
- Press Make the page.
The editor opens with your page already laid out. Change the words, add or remove sections, and publish when you're happy.
If the list is long, the Find a page box helps. Type a word like "Mass" to narrow the choices.
Start the whole website
A new site has nothing on it yet. The Pages screen shows a Start your website box listing every page of a finished site.
- Pages your site already has, such as the front page and Mass times, stay exactly as they are. They're marked already on your site.
- Press the button under the list (it reads like Make the 6 new pages) and the rest are made as drafts, filled in from what EcclesiaOne already knows about you.
- Nothing goes live on its own.
Once you have pages, the same box is still there, folded under Start your website. Pressing the button twice does no harm.
When a page says something is missing
Where EcclesiaOne can't know a fact, that section is left empty. The editor marks it, and Publish names it before you go live. Open the page and write those words yourself. See Editing a section on the page.
The page's web address
The address comes from the page name. You can change it in Page settings, under More in the editor. If you rename a page later, the editor asks whether to change the address too: press Change it or Keep it. Settle the address before you share the page, so the link people have keeps working.
