These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of EcclesiaOne, a platform for Catholic dioceses, parishes, religious institutes, societies, and schools. EcclesiaOne is operated by Orravo Web Technologies ("Orravo", "we", "us"), RC 9634991, a company registered in Nigeria with its registered office in Abuja, Nigeria. We do not publish a street address; correspondence should be sent to the email address in section 16.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
These Terms apply to individual users such as parishioners, members, donors, guardians, and staff. The institutions that subscribe to EcclesiaOne are bound by the separate Master Subscription Agreement and Data Processing Agreement.
1.Who can use EcclesiaOne
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract to create your own account. Children use the platform only through the catechesis and school features, with parental or guardian consent, as described in the Children's Privacy Notice. Accounts are created either by you during sign-up or by an institution that then invites you to claim your record.
2.Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your password and two-factor credentials secure. You must not share your login or let anyone else use your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where required for security or by law.
3.The role of your institution
Most of what you see and do on EcclesiaOne is provided by your diocese, parish, religious institute, society, or school. That institution controls its own records and decides who may see and edit them. Orravo provides the software and hosting. Questions about your records, your membership, your sacramental history, your giving, or your school account are handled by your institution. We are not responsible for the decisions an institution makes about its own members or records, or for the accuracy of data an institution enters.
4.Acceptable use
Your use of the platform is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. In short, you must not misuse the platform, post unlawful or harmful content, attempt to access data you are not authorized to see, interfere with security, or use the platform to harass or endanger others.
5.Content you submit
You keep ownership of the content you create on the platform, such as forum posts, prayer intentions, marketplace listings, and messages. By submitting content, you grant your institution and Orravo a non-exclusive licence to store, display, moderate, and distribute that content as needed to operate the relevant feature (for example showing a prayer-wall post to your parish, or a marketplace listing to buyers). You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Moderators and clergy may remove, hide, lock, or restrict content under the Acceptable Use Policy, and may issue strikes or suspend accounts. An appeals process is available and is described in that policy.
6.Giving, fees, and payments
If you donate, pledge, pay school fees, book a facility, or transact on the marketplace, additional terms apply: the Donations and Recurring Giving Terms and the Marketplace Terms. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. Orravo does not store full card details. Donations are gifts to the receiving institution, and refunds are handled as described in the giving terms.
7.Availability and changes
We work to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or withdraw features, and we may carry out maintenance. We may update these Terms; when we publish a new version the version number and date on this page change, and where a change is significant we will ask you to accept the updated Terms when you next sign in.
8.Intellectual property
The EcclesiaOne platform, including its software, design, and trademarks, belongs to Orravo and its licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights in the platform beyond the right to use it as intended. Content published by institutions belongs to those institutions or their licensors.
9.Third-party services and content
The platform links to and integrates with third-party services, and institutions may embed third-party content (such as videos) or publish their own websites through the platform's site builder. We are not responsible for third-party services or for content published by institutions. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service's own terms.
10.Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will meet your requirements or that defects will be corrected. EcclesiaOne supports record-keeping; it does not replace the canonical, legal, financial, or pastoral judgment of the clergy, staff, and professionals who use it.
11.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orravo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the platform is limited to the total fees you paid to Orravo in the twelve months before the claim arose. Individual users do not usually pay Orravo anything, because the institution pays for the subscription. Where you have paid us no fees, this limit is nil, and your claim in that case lies against your institution or is governed by the rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
12.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Orravo against claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, from content you submit, or from your unlawful use of the platform, to the extent permitted by law.
13.Termination
You may stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your institution leaves the platform, or where required for security or by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licences already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive.
14.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
15.General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Orravo regarding individual use of the platform.
16.Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected]. Postal correspondence can be addressed to Orravo Web Technologies, Abuja, Nigeria, but email is the route we ask you to use.
