Built a page you're happy with? Save it as your own template, and your next page can start from it. You can save a single section the same way.

Save a whole page

  1. Open the page in the editor.
  2. Press More, then Save as a template.
  3. Type a name and press Save as a template.

If the page has no sections yet, EcclesiaOne asks you to add one first.

The template keeps your sections with their words, pictures, looks and who sees them. Every page you start from it gets its own copy, so changing one page never changes another. Show dates are left out, because they belong to one page at one time. Sections that read your records, such as Mass times, keep reading them, so they stay up to date.

Save a section

  1. Click the section on the page.
  2. At the foot of its settings, press Save as a designed section. The section's More menu on the page has the same choice.
  3. Type a name and save.

Save a row of columns and the blocks inside come with it.

Use what you saved

  • For a new page. On the Pages screen, press New page. Your saved pages are under Your templates, above the ready-made pages. Pick one, type a Page name and press Make the page. The editor opens with your sections already laid out.
  • For a new section. In the editor, press Add, then the Your templates chip. Click a section to add it. It goes in as one step, so Undo takes it straight off again.

If a template has something your website can no longer use, it's added without that part, and a message tells you.

Rename or delete

Under Your templates, in New page or in the Add list, press Rename or delete your templates. In the editor you can also use More, then Your templates.

  • Rename lets you type a new name. Press Save name when you're done.
  • Move to Trash takes the template away. Undo shows beside it for about 30 seconds, and the template stays in the console's Trash for 30 days. See Using the Trash.

Good to know

  • Anyone who can edit the website can save and use templates.
  • A website keeps up to 200 templates.
  • Visitors never see your template names.
  • Parishes, dioceses, schools and religious communities all have Your templates.
