Three states
Each page shows one of these next to its name.
- Draft. Only your staff can see it. A new page starts here.
- Live. Visitors see it.
- Live, with changes not published yet. Visitors see the older version while you work on a newer one.
On the Pages screen, the All, Published and Drafts tabs sort your pages the same way.
Publish a page
Press Publish in the editor bar. It saves your work first, then puts exactly that on the website.
A box called Before you publish may appear. It lists unfinished sections, each with Go to it, and a few warnings, such as a photo with no description. Press Finish them to go back, or Publish anyway. Unfinished sections are left off the live page.
You can't publish an empty page. The button is greyed out and says why when you point at it.
Publish changes to a live page
When a live page has newer changes, the button says Publish changes. Visitors keep seeing the old version until you press it. Don't want the new work? Open More and choose Discard changes to go back to what visitors see now. A copy of your changes stays in History.
Publish later
Open More, then Schedule. Choose a date and time and press Schedule. The page goes live by itself within 15 minutes of that time. Scheduled changes wait under Scheduled on the Pages screen, where you can cancel them.
Take a page down
On a live page, open More and choose Unpublish. The page leaves your website and shows as Draft again.
Go back to an earlier version
More, then History, lists the page's versions. Press Compare to see one beside the page as it is now, Go back to this to restore it, or Keep the page as it is now to save a named copy before a big change.
Built-in pages
Your front page and the other built-in pages can't be deleted. You edit and publish them like any other. To delete a page you made, see Using the Trash.
