Two ways to pay
Each parish pays for itself. This is the usual way. The parish priest pays from the parish's own Plan and billing page, and a new parish you add goes live once it's paid for.
The diocese pays. Your diocese pays for the parishes you choose, from the diocese's card. We call this adopting a parish. An adopted parish shows Paid by your diocese on its own billing page.
Paying gives the diocese no say over a parish and doesn't open its records. The parish's records stay the parish's.
Pay for parishes
Open Billing, then Parishes and who pays. Every parish is listed with who pays for it.
- Adopt beside a parish moves it onto the diocese's card. Choose the plan, and add a last day if you want one. A parish that already pays for itself is adopted from the end of its paid period, and its priest is told. A parish not yet on EcclesiaOne shows Pay to activate instead.
- Adopt every parish does the same for every parish that can be adopted. Tick Also adopt parishes that join later to take on new ones automatically too. You can stop that any time from the Parishes that join later panel.
The diocese needs a card on file and a claimed diocese. The page tells you if either is missing.
Stop paying
End adoption stops the diocese paying for a parish at the end of a paid period. If the diocese's own payment fails, the parishes it pays for get 30 days of full access to start paying for themselves. Nothing is deleted.
One plan for the whole diocese
For every parish to go live as soon as you add it, ask for a diocese-wide plan with Talk to us. We set it up with you. You can't switch it on from the console yourself.
A parish with its own payment account
That's fine. EcclesiaOne never touches the parish's own account. Billing is between the parish, or the diocese, and EcclesiaOne. The parish's online giving carries on as before.
