Use Events for things that happen now and then: a novena, a society meeting, a retreat, a preparation class, a feast day or a fundraiser. Regular Masses go in your Mass schedule instead.

Add an event

  1. Open Events and press New event.
  2. Type a Title.
  3. Under What kind of event, choose one: Novena, Society meeting, Retreat, Preparation class, Devotion, Feast or patronal day, Parish meeting, Fundraiser or Something else.
  4. Choose Who can see it.
  5. Fill in Starts and, if you like, Ends.
  6. Add Where in words, such as "parish hall".
  7. Press Create event.

Who can see it

  • Everyone, on your website too. Most events use this.
  • Parishioners who are signed in.
  • Members of the society chosen below.
  • Parish staff only.

The optional boxes

  • Society. Link the event to a society so it shows on that society's page.
  • Places. A limit on how many can come. Leave it empty for no limit.
  • Description. A few lines for people to read.

An event that repeats

Tick Repeat this event, choose How often (every day, week or month), how many steps apart, and How many dates, up to 104. A weekly novena becomes one entry each week.

A Mass is different

If you choose Mass as the kind, the form points you to the Mass schedule with Add it to the Mass times instead. Masses added there show in Mass times, the sacristy list and Today.

What parishioners see

Public events show on your website and in the parish calendar feed. Where people can reply, they answer Going, Maybe or Can't go, and you see the numbers. See RSVPing to events.
