A word from the pulpit
Praying without losing heart
Jesus tells us to pray always and not lose heart. The widow in the story does not have power or money. She has persistence. Prayer is not a way of getting God to change his mind. It is a way of letting him change ours. When we keep coming back, even on the days we feel nothing, we are being shaped. This week, pick one…

What time are the Masses?
Sunday Masses at the parish church are at 8 am and 11 am. St Peter's, Fernhollow, meets at 10 am and St Anne's, Hollinford, at 12:30 pm every Sunday: the priest celebrates Mass at each once a month, and on the other Sundays the catechism teacher leads a service of the Word. Weekday Mass is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 am.
How do I book a baptism?
Ask at the parish office or use the baptism page on this website. We ask parents and godparents to come to one short preparation talk first. There is no fee for the sacrament.
How long before the wedding should we see the parish priest?
At least six months before. He will ask for baptism certificates, arrange the marriage preparation course and publish the banns on three Sundays.
When is the parish office open?
Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm. For a sick call at any hour, ring the presbytery.
How do I get a certificate?
Request it from the certificates page on this website or at the office. Certificates are ready within three working days.
How can I give to the parish?
At the Sunday collection, by envelope at the office, or online from the Give page. Every gift is receipted.

0prayers this weekCan a Catholic stand as sponsor at a dedication in another church?
You may attend with joy and pray for the child. That is a real gift to your cousin, and you should give it freely. A sponsor, though, speaks for the faith in which the child will be raised. In a dedication that is your…
