Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow put in two small coins, and Jesus says she gave more than all of them.

The Lord does not measure our gifts by their size but by what they cost us and how much love is in them. That is true of the collection basket, and it is true of an hour spent with a lonely neighbour.
